Coraline Review

Coraline Review
In the movie Coraline directed by Henry Selick is a mysterious, eye opening film with adventurous scenes you could never image right in front of your eyes. Henry has a lot of experience with these kinds of films for example “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “James and the Giant Peach”. All very popular movies, Coraline is just bound to come out just as popular and interesting as previous films. Coraline relates to all of these movies threw the creativity and the wacky scenes that the characters provoke throughout the story. Coraline leaves you on your toes for the whole movie leaving you wanting more information about the story line.

While watching the movie Coraline I was always enthused and a little frightened by the interesting yet creepy other mother and father in the other world that Coraline enters from her formal world. Coraline learns from her experiences from the other world that she needs to appreciate what she has in life even though everything is not perfect. What really caught my eye was the amazing effects shown in the other world and how much different they made it than Coraline’s real world. They made everything so much brighter and happier and gave the garden a unique look, which was Coraline’s face which I thought was very creative of the producers to think of.

All in all, in the movie Coraline, it was a mysterious, fun, and creepy children’s film that is good for the whole family. The best part of the whole movie for me was when she finally started to notice that something was wrong with her so-called “PERFECT” world and she had to figure out how to make everything back to normal and close to portal to other world for good. What Coraline did was find out her strengths with the other mother because the other mother was using Coraline’s weakness’s to try and convince her to stay, that’s when Coraline began to play her game also. The other mother loved to play games. Coraline finally realized once everything was back to normal that she didn’t need a perfect life all she needed was everything back to the way things were. Coraline also realized that her family may not be perfect but they were just what she needed in her life and nothing else to keep her happy and she didn’t need buttons to see the perfect life because it was already right infront of her the whole time. Don't just take it from my point of view, enjoy it for yourself.

Premier Review

In the show Guys With Kids featuring Anthony Anderson as Gary, Jamie- Lynn Sigler as Emily, Jesse Bradford as Chris, Tempestt Bledsoe as Marny, Zach Cregger as Nick and Erin Hayes as Sheila all main characters of the show, these men are placed in a situation were they have to give the life of freedom up for a life of a single father. Growing up for these 3 men is going to be quite the challenge epically without women by their sides.

In the sitcom they try and show the life of a single parent isn't as easy as it looks, epically when being a guy. Guys with kids relates to guys who raise their children on their own without any women figures in their lives leading the way. This consists of a total life change for these 3 men and babies. They have to turn their lives completely upside down and dedicate all their time and effort into their child's life, oh and make it funny at the same time of course.

When watching Guys With Kids, at first I thought it was going to be another show where guys tried to play the roles of women and show everyone guys can raise kids just like women can, but once the show got deeper into it, they really do try and show the struggles that single parents go threw everyday and make hilarious at the same time. What really drew me into the show was how realistic they made everything seem, one moment everything is perfect and all three guys are living the dream and partying every night, doing what they want to do, and suddenly a baby is thrown on them and they have to flip their whole mind set around and turn off party mode and put on the parent pants. The dad's really do try and show how they can mature in such a short period of time and still have fun while having a baby that's what I think makes guys with kids so enjoyable to watch.

One down fall of Guys With Kids is that a lot of the scenes weren't as realistic as they should have been. For example when they took the babies into the bar and put them behind the counter, that's when the humor comes in and its less of the realistic parts of life. Guys With Kids really tries to keep you tuned in with the show by giving you real life examples of how everyday guy parents live. For their premiere I think the show did an excellent job, and I cant wait to see the next episode.
